On Preachy Vegans...

Why are vegans SO preachy? Why do they talk about it ALL THE TIME?

Well, if you really think about it, it’s the other way round. When you withdraw from the system which accepts oppression of animals, you’ll see how non vegans are actually the ones who are obsessed with exploitation of animals.

To us, vegans (ethical vegans in particular), a simple coffee from a café is not just well, simple. It is a reminder us the behind the scenes of what went into the milk, the torture to the animal, the litres of precious drinking water (120 litres of water for half cup of cow milk) & feed gone to waste with the added carbon emissions.

A simple non-vegetarian meal is the reminder of the cut up, rotting, body parts of the corpse of an animal which was an individual with his/her (yes, I gave pronouns) own personality.

Once you choose to look from the eyes of the victims, it won’t be as daunting or difficult as it may sound. And yes, you don’t need to be an animal lover for this, you just need to be a believer of justice (which humans instinctively are).

Till then..."tolerance" is what we'll have to practise since people take time to wake up. Till issues become “trendy” enough to garner attention. The way I’ve come to look at it is that not everybody’s priority is to become a better version of themselves, not everybody cares abt the injustices of the world. Sadly, till then, the animals will have to keep sacrificing themselves till we achieve that vegan world reality in every individual’s eye.

So I will just sign off leaving this...

If you’re tired of listening about women’s rights, imagine being one.

(Feminism, Women’s rights)

If you’re tired of listening to black lives matter, imagine living as a black man

(Racism, rights of people of colour)

If you think vegans/ animal rights activists are loud, then listen to the screams in the slaughterhouse.

(Veganism/anti-speciesism, animal rights)
