Sweetened Canned Pineapple

Wish there was a way to preserve your pineapple after it’s cut? 🤔

Wish that there was some way that you could regulate the tang in your pineapple? 🤔

Well, you’ve come to the right place. Read on! 🤔

Ingredients:

· 1 whole cut pineapple (any shape).

· Sugar/ Brown sugar

· Water

The quantity of water and sugar depends on the quantity of your pineapple. Enough water should be added to let the pineapple float but not too much. The sugar water consistency to be maintained is 2:1.

Method:

1. Add the pineapple, water and sugar in a boiling pan and let it boil on a medium low and cover the utensil with a lid

2. Now just sit back and relax. Oops, okay, not just yet. Keep checking till the firm pineapple has become softer by poking a folk in it.

3. If the folk is too difficult to poke in, then you know you have to wait.

So when do you know it’s cooked?

Answer: When the folk pokes a piece of the pineapple all the way through.

And there you have it-- Feel free to use this for pineapple jam or pineapple topping for your cakes and breads.

Notes:

You can even cook this in a pressure cooker, just add all the 3 things and let it cook on first high flame till there is a whistle and then cook on low for 5 more minutes.

The canned pineapple stays for 2 weeks in the fridge.
