Beetroot Flour/Wheat Halwa



Prep Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp beetroot flour or wheat flour

  • 2 tbsp vegan ghee or olive oil

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Nuts for optional garnish

Method:

  • In a saucepan add the sugar and water and let the sugar melt in the water till it becomes sugar water. There's no need to thicken it up.

  • In a kadhai, roast some nuts in the oil for garnish and keep them aside.

  • Next, in the same ghee/oil, roast the beetroot flour/wheat and add more oil if required.

  • Now this will take some time, about 10-15 minutes, until it gets a sand like consistency.

  • Keep stirring till then.

  • After the sand like consistency is achieved, then add the sugar water while stirring continuously and rigorously. This is especially important so that the halwa does not stick to the sides.

  • Let it cook for a 1-2 minutes and then halwa is ready to be served!
